The UC Davis Arboretum is undergoing major flow changes using recycled water from the campus wastewater treatment plant with the goal of improving water quality in the waterway. The “Stream Team” is group of students who are documenting the renewal of the locally cherished natural system. The team met weekly in Fall 2017 and Winter 2018 to study and document the value of improved water quality in the arboretum.

Goals and Participants

The Value of Water

Semaj collects the water quality sonde for a first round of data collection in December 2017.

A major goal of this project is to produce a documentary on the theme “The Value of Water” for the AEESP/EESF Student video competition. The team has brainstormed other pursuits and collected water quality data in the arboretum.

Angela and a waterway steward intern collect the water quality sonde after winter break (January 19, 2018) with the Stream Team and the Waterway Interns looking on.
